Hi, I’m Nia!
I'm the person behind Little Epiphanies Design. I’m a Chicago-based art director, graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, and writer. I build comprehensive branding systems, create original illustrations, produce marketing assets, and have designed the packaging for over a dozen albums. I've created ads for everyone from Paul McCartney to Beyonce, but my biggest client is my mom. (That's true.) I get a thrill from an abundance of color, love botanical patterns and Scandinavian design, and am a big fan of midcentury fonts and signage. I have an innate sense of what works when it comes to layout, and use the term "satisfying" with abandon. Like many a Montessori kid, I'm a lifelong learner who loves delving into the research process. I love a good mood board and can't get enough of looking at other people's designs. I’m an enthusiastic collaborator and a resourceful and accessible leader who uses humor and empathy to convey new concepts to clients and team members. I love getting to know my team, mentoring and training new collaborators, and waiting for the perfect pause to tell a joke on Zoom. Aside from being a graphic designer, I am also a trained photographer, have a passion for and deep knowledge of home design, and have an enduring love of creative writing. I enjoy making music, and have been fortunate enough to play dozens of shows as a drummer and singer in the doo-wop rock band Midnight Moxie. Here are just a few of the artists and brands that inspire me:
